CASH Students Complete Morgan Truck Internship and Welding Certification

Congratulations to CASH seniors Damien Kurtz and Elijah Whitaker who were honored last Thursday for successfully completing the internship program and earning their welding certifcate at Morgan Trucking. Morgan Truck Body located in Morgantown Pennsylvania offers high school seniors the opportunity to learn welding as a trade during their senior year.

If your child may be interested in this for his or her senior year, please reach out to his or her assigned counselor. Qualifying seniors will be offered a paid internship that will provide them with welding certification. Senior students will need to provide their own transportation to Morgan Truck Body. Students will leave CASH and take courses at Morgan during the afternoon. There is an application process that must be completed in order to qualify for admission into this program. This is a semester training program. Students who have the appropriate number of credits could opt to

remain at Morgan Truck Body during the second semester for Work Release.

CASH Students Selected to Participate In Senator Muth's Advisory Committee

Congratulations to CASH juniors, Samantha Calvert and Jayden Yacoe, who were recently chosen to participate in Senator Muth's Youth Advisory Committee. Jayden will be joining Samantha on the council who is on her second year of a member of the council. The Youth Advisory Council will bring students together to discuss, learn, brainstorm, strategize, and implement ideas and plans to advance public awareness on state government issues. Participants in the program will learn about the history of Pennsylvania’s state government and what is happening today, and how they can drive change to make our state a more equitable, fair, and safe place for all to live, work, learn, and recreate. The program will consist of regular meetings with the senator to advise her on legislative and local priorities.

The Youth Advisory Council is open to current sophomores and juniors from all high schools in Senate District 44 and will provide students an opportunity to contribute their insight, perspectives, and recommendations on issues directly impacting their communities and schools.

Orchestra Concert and Meistersingers Carol Service

Congratulations to our Orchestra and Meistersingers who demonstrated their amazing talents this month at the Orchestra Concert and the Meistersingers' Carol Service. Thank you to Mr. Hughes and Mrs. Tingle-Lewis for all the time and dedication in preparing our students perform! If you missed those concerts or looking for more - please join us this Friday, December 20, at the Winter Celebration of Music in the CASH auditorium at 7pm.

CASH German Classes Learn About St. Nikolaus Tradition

Our CASH German students recently had the opportunity to learn and celebrate St Nikolaus Tag. Children in Germany polish and clean their shoes on December 5th in anticipation of St Nikolaus visiting during the night. Looks like our German students have been good!!

CITADEL HEART OF LEARNING-NOW OPEN!! NOMINATE A CASH TEACHER TODAY

The Citadel Heart Of Learning Award Nomination process is now open. Please click the link below to nominate one of our CASH teachers today. Every year Citadel honors outstanding teachers across the Greater Philadelphia area in Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery, Lancaster and Philadelphia counties with the Citadel Heart of Learning Award. This year, winners will be awarded a total of over $80,000 in grants and prizes, along with the treasured glass heart trophy. Grand prize winners will be selected from each of the six counties, so be sure to spread the word and submit your nominations by January 15, 2025.

GRADUATION PATHWAYS VIDEO

Act 158 of 2018 (Act 158) and Act 6 of 2017 (Act 6) amended §121 of the Pennsylvania Public School Code, establishing five different pathways by which students may meet the statewide graduation requirements. The Keystone Proficiency and Keystone Composite Pathways rely on student performance in three academic areas (Algebra I, Biology, and Literature), proven to be predictive of postsecondary success; whereas the Career & Technical Education (CTE) Concentrator, Alternative Assessment, and Evidence-Based Pathways were designed to more fully illustrate students’ college, career, and community readiness through other student artifacts and experiences.
