Dr. Jamar L. Alston has over 18 years of experience in public education including work in traditional (brick and mortar), charter, alternative, and cyber schools. Most recently, he served as an Assistant Principal at King's Highway Elementary School. Prior to that, he held teaching positions at the Chester Upland School District, Graystone Academy, and the Upper Darby School District. He has a Doctor of Education from Neumann University, Master of Education from Cabrini College, Master and Bachelor of Arts in History and a Bachelor of Philosophy from West Chester University. He has Principal PK-12, Social Studies 7-12, and Mid Level Science 6-9 certifications. He considers himself a servant leader who believes in the growth mindset and that all students are valued.
In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his wife (Farah) and children (Jayden, Amaya, and Chase), cooking, traveling, reading, writing, playing foosball, watching the Philadelphia Eagles, boxing, and television. As an assistant principal at the Coatesville Area Intermediate High School (8th-9th Center), he plans to keep an open line of communication and collaborate with Mr. Cliff Maloney and Dr. Kelly Cole, and other stake holders to provide a safe, educational, and positive climate and culture, in which all students, faculty, and parents are included and valued members of the school.
