History of Caln
Operations were started on June 1, 1927, by the contractor, William Kaempfer of Glen Moore, for the erection of an eight room brick school building in Thorndale, Caln Township. The new school was located on a five acre plot of ground on the Corey estate. The cost of building and equipping the school cost approximately $60,000. It was originally named "Caln Township Consolidated School" because it served to consolidated the educational programs housed in one-room school houses throughout Caln Township. The school was eventually renamed "Caln Elementary School." Our grade levels range from Kindergarten through Fifth Grade. Our Kindergarten program is a daily full day program. We welcome anyone who would like to tour our school and hear about our educational programs and extra-curricular activities.
